Playing around with Stamps & Word Dies

Happy Sunday, fellow stampers!

I just had eye surgery a couple of days ago, and am in awe of how far they’ve come with things…I can actually see without my glasses that I’ve had for 52 years!  The Doc corrected my astigmatism and put the new lens in and the next day I could almost make out the 20/20 line…Whoopee!

I still have to use reading glasses to craft with, but I don’t mind that at all.  So I decided to pull out some new toys I got from Reverse Confetti and made this card…

I used the pine branches from my Penny Black Nature’s Gifts set and stamped them in Wild Wasabi first, then came back in with Gumball Green.  I rather like the way it frames the top of the card.  Then I used the Peace word die from Reverse Confetti’s Christmas set (sorry, can’t remember the name of it), and cut out the front of the stamped card to align with the pine needles.  I layered 2 white and 1 green die cut pieces behind it.  Then I used VersaMark and added some Iridescent Ice glitter to the pine-cut piece and heat set it.  I then glued it on top of the other layers, stamped the sentiments and added some sparkling clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh {LOVE their sequins!}.

Me thinks I will make a small batch of these to add to my Christmas cards I will be sending out.  I think it turned out rather cool, don’t you?

This was a very fun card to make.  How are your Christmas Cards coming along?  Please share them…I would love to see what you make.

Hugs and keep smilin’!

P.S. – I entered this card to Addicted to CAS!  Go check out their blog!  Don’t forget there is still time to enter!
